Tess has significant patent litigation experience, including in relation to complex disputes involving FRAND licensing, entitlement and wider commercial issues. Although Tess has particular expertise in the life sciences sector, she acts for companies in a broad variety of industries, often coordinating their European strategy. Tess also has an interest in the interface between IP and competition law, having recently completed a PGDip in EU competition law at King’s College London.
Tess has litigated in the High Court (involving both general commercial and intellectual property claims), Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, and has taken a lead role in successful mediations. She is also a solicitor advocate and has represented clients in the High Court as such. As a UPC legal representative, Tess is currently also involved in cases brought in the UPC.
Tess joined Powell Gilbert in 2014, and became a Partner in 2022.
