Sidd specialises in multi-jurisdictional patent litigation in the medical devices, biotech and pharmaceutical fields. His scientific background provides him with a firm understanding of issues in complex technical disputes.
Sidd has represented clients in litigation before the UK Patents Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, as well as in EPO proceedings – and has successfully acted in some of the most high-profile patent cases to come before the UK courts in recent years, including in two landmark UK Supreme Court decisions (Warner-Lambert v Actavis and Regeneron v Kymab). As a UPC legal representative, Sidd is currently also acting in some of the first cases to be brought in the UPC.
Sidd has considerable experience of managing and coordinating pan-European litigation strategies and parallel US litigation. He also advises on freedom to operate, regulatory issues and matters of confidential information.
Sidd joined Powell Gilbert as an associate in 2012 and became a partner in 2019.
