Adam works on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious patent matters. In addition to patent litigation, having trained and qualified as a European and UK patent attorney, Adam’s experience has included global prosecution and portfolio strategy, freedom to operate and due diligence advice, advising on SPC matters as well as European Patent Office (EPO) oppositions & appeals. He has appeared regularly as an advocate before the EPO’s Opposition Division and Boards of Appeal. He is also a Unified Patent Court (UPC) representative and is representing clients in several cases before the UPC and the UK courts, as well as co-ordinating and conducting multi-jurisdictional litigation across Europe.

Adam has experience in handling cases spanning a wide variety of technologies.  In relation to the life sciences sector, his experience includes medical devices, small molecule and biologic drugs, disease diagnosis, pharmaceutical formulations, polymorphic forms, medical uses, dosing regimens and patient subgroups.

While studying at the University of Bristol, Adam spent a year working in research and development at a leading global science and technology company.

Adam joined Powell Gilbert in 2024.
