Summer of IP Events

Powell Gilbert are delighted to be involved in IPInclusive’s ‘Summer of IP’ 2024 campaign. The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness of IP-related careers and improve access to them by providing ‘taster’ activities and guidance.  For more information on the campaign, please visit the Summer of IP page on IPInclusive’s website here.

As part of the campaign, Powell Gilbert will be hosting the following events:

  • Thursday 4 July 2024 at 6.30pm: Introduction to the different forms of IP (presentation)

A whistle-stop tour of patents, copyright, trade marks and design rights with high-level explanations of what each of the rights are, the law that governs them and some real life case examples.

  • Thursday 18 July 2024 at 6.30pm: Panel discussion: Life as an IP Solicitor / IP Barrister

An opportunity to find out what being an IP solicitor or IP barrister is really like! Our panel will include solicitors from Powell Gilbert as well as barristers from some of the leading IP chambers. There will be opportunity to submit questions to the panel in advance and plenty of time to ask questions on the day.

Each talk will last around one hour and will be hosted in a hybrid format. You can choose whether you would like to attend in person at our offices in London or join remotely. For those attending in person, the talk will be followed by a networking session. There are limited in person spaces available, which will be allocated to the first 40 registered attendees.

For those joining remotely, a webinar link will be provided to registered users ahead of the event.

If you would like to join us for one or both of these events, please sign-up via the following form:
